I've had Marklin since the age of four. Not only did my father instill the hobby of model railroading with Märklin, but he also instilled the curiosity of how things work. Since he was an auto mechanic, I was chosen to help keep the family cars running.

I always took things apart as a child and many times it was my Märklin trains. 

As a teenager, I grew out of the hobby as many do when cars and girls have a priority. As life went on, I wanted my old trains back so I went and picked them from my fathers house, since they had been a major part of my life.

Later, working in a train shop and getting paid in trains, I started doing Märklin service, repairs and upgrades. Now years later, the Märklin repairs feed the need I have to "tinker". 

I had the chance to visit the Märklin factory for training. The Factory has never trained anyone outside of their service room. Now I am the only Factory Trained Technician outside of the Märklin factory.
